It is clears from his expressions that something Drastic has happened but I have some questions.
Why is he so stressed?
Does he accidentally his deleted images? 
or
Does he deleted some of his precious pictures while deleting the bulk images?
Whatever the reason may be but I know that he has lost some of his memorable pics and now he is wanting it back.
So not to worry my friend just follow these methods:-
Search on Social Media- Most of the users share their memories on social media platform like Facebook, Instagram and others. So my friend try to look on these portals and download the image form there.
Take screen shot from Videos- There is a possibility that you can capture screen content and derive photos by pausing a video.
Check “Recently Deleted” folder- The images remains in this folder for about days. If you have that setting then you can recover the photos from that folder.
I think the above measures will definitely help you in getting back your images.
