How to set password in outlook PST

 

 

Outlook PST file can hold many data at one place. It has a capacity of holding massive confidential details at one place. So if your data is so important and confidential then you must protect it by securing it with a password.

Reasons for Setting Password to Outlook PST file.

  • To protect it from Unauthorized Access.
  • Avoid the misuse of information present in the file.
  • To restrict it from any editing.
  • For Securing a Confidential Information.

 

So there are many reasons that why you should keep a PST File password protected. But the fact is many of the user doesn’t know how to set password in outlook PST files.

So I was also not aware of setting a password in MS Outlook PST files. So I found this article which shows a step by step explanation to set Outlook PST Password.

I would like that you must also know these steps.

  • For Outlook 2007 “Open Tool Tab” & For Outlook 2010 “Open File Tab”.
  • Click on “Account Setting” option.
  • A Pop Up will appear. Under “Data” Tab Click on “Settings”.
  • Again a Pop Menu will Open. Click on “Change Password”
  • Then type your desired password you want.
